Refocused

Recently, I found a burst of energy to refocus The New Settler, which might be caused by my new obsession with iced lattes but that isn’t the point.  I plan to center this blog more around my creative work, film, and daily inspirations. You can expect more updates, images, and art.  Get excited, because this is going to be great!

Unreal in NYC

In April, I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the winners of the Volkswagen’s Fan Ticket GIFaway.  A few weeks earlier, I entered an animated GIF into the contest in hopes of receiving tickets to one of the performances of Kraftwerk Retrospective 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 at the MoMA.  My GIF not only won me tickets to the final performance, but was also selected to be projected as part of the VW fan mosaic digital billboard. Thank you Volkswagen for a trip of a lifetime!

Popsicle Jokes

Popsicle Jokes

I think that me and children under the age of five are the only people who find popsicle jokes hilarious.  When I say hilarious, I mean it.  I have been known to lose my breath because I am laughing so hard at these puns.  Popsicle’s one liners often make their way into my repertoire of jokes.  The most recent addition is the one pictured above.

Q: What is a pig’s favorite karate move?

A: A pork chop

Here is another classic that I often tell to anyone who will listen.

Q: What is a bunny’s favorite type music?

A: Hip-hop

Mantra Menu

The end of January is quickly approaching and I have to admit that even though we are only into a few weeks of 2012,  I am struggling at times to stay motivated with my New Year’s resolutions.  I strongly believe that positive thinking leads to good things; therefore, I created what I am calling my Mantra Menu.  Hopefully, this inspirational list will help me stay motivated through the year.  I have hung this list on my bedroom mirror, so I can read it every morning before I leave for the day.
